Interventions at the community level aim to spread understanding of the importance of educating girls, positive gender norms, and the consequences of early marriage, teenage pregnancy, child bearing, etc., with the objective of building popular support for adolescent girls. The interventions will be at the village level, involving the key traditional leaders, opinion makers, influential persons and elected representatives. This is also to build necessary support systems and an environment that is conducive for girls to rise, grow and lead.
We work closely with the gram panchayats and arrange for Samvada programs between parents, role model girls and community leaders. Many leaders are speaking up for the girls and are taking responsibility to support initiatives with adolescents.
